Carrying tank down the line using trench plates to cross the span between curbs (About 4” clearance between tank and cat walk. Nice work Dave) (Cheng moving a pipe out of the way of the tank)

positioning the tank to be set down.

Jason and Ian Anchoring the tank

Removing trench plate for next tank

shows 3 pumps and 3 heat exchangers along with the APU set behind the anodizing and 2 step tanks.
2 the wiring partially completed in the concentrate area

shows the plumbers' trailers and trucks moved into the anodizing area to get them closer to their work.
shows the drywall and framing being worked on at the southeast roll up door area.
The north-south catwalk is installed and being painted today.

Tuesday, October 23, 2012

shows 6 of the process tanks installed prior to the north-south catwalk currently being installed.

shows an aerial view of the anodizing line and surrounding work.

10/19/12Some finish work is being done with the monument.  It looks nice and the workmanship appears good.  There's no expansion/contraction built into the long 2-piece sections on the bottom.

10/9/12 The remaining handrail is being installed today.

shows the first process tank installed. We wanted to install more but Tom and I were both whooped and called it at about 5.

shows the progress of the chiller plumbing.

Wednesday, October 17, 2012

shows the hoist on the frame and the catwalk handrails in place.
The handrails and catwalk are to be painted today, so tanks east of the north-south catwalk will be placed tomorrow or Thursday.
shows painting done on the north wall.

shows painting done on the catwalk.
shows the roll up door framework and sheet rock being installed at the north warehouse.

*110v and welding plugs are being installed on west and south walls.
*Steam pipes are installed and being pressure tested.

Thursday, October 11, 2012

shows the beginning of the catwalk installation. Trench plates should be coming by the end of this week/beginning of next week which will likely be used by the plumbers for overhead work to save us on the "T" of T&M.

shows the caustic concentrate tanks now insulated. The heaters are in them and the pumps are to be installed tomorrow. The tanks will also be set in their permanent locations, fill pipes will be ran, and controls set on the exterior of the east wall of the boiler room. NOTE the scrubber exhaust above the roof line.

Tuesday, October 9, 2012

shows the Chemineer agitator installed with shafts and propellers on the Crystallizer tank. We used a jib on a forklift to hold the motor while attaching the shaft. We're now ready to have the handrail installed above, then foam and paint the outside of the tank. Many of the floor grates are installed making access much easier. The hoist structure is fully painted and the white paint is great for reflecting the lighting.

shows some of the catwalk parts pre-painted while other parts are coming in with red oxide primer coating. We don't have a firm date for catwalk installation yet.

shows manifolds coming off the chiller. Core drilled holes are in the new locations outside to the cooling tower.
shows the cooling tower and generator, but no plumbing appears to have been done yet for the cooling tower.
*The catwalk anchor lay out is being done today preparing for special inspection of setting the ahchors.
*Overhead steam piping is being installed today and tomorrow morning prior to the catwalk being installed.
*Electricians are almost done with contract work.

T-bar dropped ceiling being installed in the break room.
The walls have already been painted and the HVAC work has been done.
Lights have already been installed.

shows the bathrooms adjacent to the anodizing break room. The toilets, sinks and flooring is installed. The lights are being worked on.

The hoist framework being painted and it really brightens up the already painted areas. Should be done by Thursday 10/4/12. The drywall is installed on all of the anodizing side and 70% of north warehouse side. Still needs to be taped, textured and painted.

2 crews are welding the CO-PP tank liners as of this week.

chiller after being moved about 7' to the east.
view from the south-east part of the anodizing area. The splash wall is designed to give some life to the area making a more vibrant working environment, and because this exposed side is the reverse side of coil anodized scrap aluminum sheet, it reflects light better and we were able to salvage unsaleable sheet. All interior drywall will have been hung after this section is done today. All air socks have been hung. The DMP system was inspected yesterday and the inspector seemed satisfied with our operation.

The new fence with gates to the terrace/north warehouse and to the concentrated storage area. Lasers following the fence line to be installed early next week by Cal Safety.

Cone tanks are located and the perimeter splash wall is substantially completed.
*Electricians have worked several weekends, drywall crew worked this weekend also.
*Emergency generator set and anchored today. Wiring for it has also begun.
*Plans to install the hoist onto the hoist framework are made.
*Having the starter for the breaker for the CO-PP welding compressor replaced, went out on night shift last night.
*Soaker hoses have been placed at the bushes west of the SAF/County offices as a temporary irrigation method. Same for Caterpillar Rd prior to the driveway.
*Looking into renting trench plates for installing process tanks. The weight of tanks and lift are significant for the spans so blocking devices are being considered as well.
*Work on the hoist structure has been quiet the latter part of this week. The construction Superintendent is to update their plans for moving forward.
*ADA access will be by re-pouring the concrete. Mud jacking is not a good alternative with so many expansion joints.
All the best,
dave
